Tories select Jane Hunt as their candidate for Leicester South

Although I haven't seen it officially confirmed anywhere it appears the Conservatives have chosen Jane Hunt as their candidate for the Leicester South by-election. Ross Grant, the leader of the Tory group on Leicester Council, congratulated Hunt on twitter. We eagerly await The Today Programme's coverage of this by-election!

Hunt is a Councillor on the Charnwood District Council in Leicestershire. She stood against the Labour MP Keith Vaz in Leicester East at the General Election where she managed a 4.8% swing towards her party. Another second place for Hunt seems likely in this by-election.
