As expected, October is beginning to fill up and is likely to be as busy as September. The long standing vacancy in Mansfield (caused by the death of a Councillor in May) finally has a date set and the by-election in Adur is on a Tuesday; that's not a mistake in the date. Incidentally, as that is barely 15 minutes drive from my new abode in Hove we'll try and give that particular by-election a bit of special attention, even though it should be a safe Conservative hold.

Regular readers will also note the reappearance of Poulton North, Warrington in our list. Sadly this is not an error; the recently elected Councillor Colin Oliver passed away last week and so another by-election will be held in the ward.

There are three by-elections this week and despite the fact I'm not quite moved in here yet the usual coverage should be provided.
